Constructed for Environmental Science and Research by Heatwave, it contains many specialist features that enable ESR to produce the best-quality DNA work possible, in a closely controlled internal environment.
Features include:
- highly filtered and regulated air flow which minimises sample contamination by ensuring that air is clean and is not passed from room to room within the building.
- differential pressure regimes between separate laboratories used for analysis of different sample types, ensures that there is no chance of cross-contamination between laboratories.
Adding to this work DNA work Heatwave refurbished the associated science building and created the systems for the Firearm Testing Laboratory (FTL).
ESR’s work underpins the Health and Justice systems in New Zealand.
Heatwave Maintenance remotely monitors the laboratory temperature and pressure regimes, and the DNA sample freezers, 24 hours per day.
Regular maintenance of the central plant, filters, freezers, and control systems means ESR has an assurance that the International Quality of its work is not threatened.
