Axis Building, Parnell
Brief: | This multi-tenanted building with a NLA of ~4000sm, targeted a NABERSNZ base Building Energy Rating through an HVAC upgrade, to provide more sustainable energy efficient systems, and a quality indoor environment for occupants. The building has both residential and commercial tenants around an open courtyard in a heritage building. | |||
Heatwave: | Heatwave were appointed as Main Contractor to facilitate this conversion through, removing gas fired boilers, old split systems and an hydronic AC system with cooling tower; managing the builders works; installing 300 kw of VRF systems and vent systems; and an Energy Management System(EMS) - without compromising the aesthetic integrity of the building. A significant criterion was to stage the removal so that the 16 plus commercial tenants were not inconvenienced through loss of cooling or closure of their businesses. A seamless, progressive changeover was achieved. |
